■Story
My name is Ryo Saeba—also known as the City Hunter. In this line of work, I’m a sweeper, and a well-known one at that. From guarding beautiful women to taking on assassinations, I handle it all. Think of me as the city’s cleaner—wiping out the trash on its streets. That means every day is a dance with danger. My partner Kaori, the younger sister of my late best friend, doesn’t exactly bring in the most glamorous jobs. Still, I can’t help but wonder… what kind of work will fall into my hands today?

This action-comedy follows the duo as they resolve cases, with Ryo often getting sidetracked by beautiful women along the way.

■Anime: City Hunter

Based on the hit manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, City Hunter became a hard-boiled, episodic action series. Regarded as one of the pillars of Jump’s “golden age,” it rose to massive popularity thanks to the combined success of both manga and anime.
As the manga’s long serialization continued, the anime went on to produce three sequel series and multiple TV specials. The animated version was especially praised for its original storylines not found in the manga, as well as its dynamic action sequences involving firearms and cars.

The song was released on April 8th, 1987, through EPIC Records,.
It was written as the ending theme song for anime television series “City Hunter”.
Its striking intro starts playing during the very last scene of the episode and transitions into speedy ending and closing credits. This perfectly synched music and anime made a massive impact on viewers.
It has since become a beloved national anime song, cherished not only in Japan but also overseas.
The song also turned into popular internet memes “Get Wild Taikin” (Get Wild Clock Out), videos of people clocking out along with the song, and “Mukakin Ojisan” (Uncle Free-to-Play), referring to the athlete who won the silver medal in air pistol.
In 2023, April 8th (the day “Get Wild” was released) was recognized as “Get Wild Day.”
In October 2024, “Get Wild” surpassed 100 million cumulative streams.
