■Prologue

An unforgettable journey awaits.

Bracers: an organization dedicated to ensuring the safety of civilians and preserving peace throughout the region.
They take on tasks such as monster extermination and crime prevention, operating from a neutral standpoint without allegiance to any one nation.
It’s a profession that many young children dream of someday joining.

Estelle Bright, a girl living near the town of Rolent in the Kingdom of Liberl, is one of those children.
The daughter of a bracer herself, she dreams of following in her father’s footsteps.
Together with Joshua, the boy who grew up by her side like a brother, she trains tirelessly toward that goal.

One day, a letter arrives for Estelle’s father, Cassius Bright.
After reading it, Cassius abruptly departs on urgent business, leaving Estelle and Joshua behind.

As newly minted Junior Bracers, Estelle and Joshua take on the assignments Cassius would have handled—
thus beginning their journey as bracers.

■Battle System Overview

In The Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki the 1st, players will engage in two styles of combat:

  • Quick Battles, where players fight in real time using attacks and evasive maneuvers, and
  • Command Battles, where players issue orders turn-by-turn while paying attention to action order and positioning.

You’ll switch between these two tactical modes to overcome the challenges ahead.

①Quick Battle: Real-Time Action on the Field
[Attack]

  • Perform standard attacks using your character’s equipped weapon.
  • Repeatedly pressing the attack button chains strikes into a combo.

[Crafts]

  • Fill the Craft Gauge to unleash Crafts—powerful character-specific abilities.
  • Crafts can be executed consecutively up to two times.
  • They hit harder than normal attacks and are highly effective at stunning enemies.

[Evasion]

  • Dodge enemy attacks with backsteps or rolls.
  • Follow a dodge with an attack to trigger a jumping strike.
  • Successfully performing a Perfect Dodge (dodging at just the right moment) fully restores your Craft Gauge, allowing you to instantly counter with devastating Craft attacks.

[Combo Attack]

  • Spend Brave Points to trigger a powerful wide-area finishing move performed by Estelle and Joshua together.

Gain the advantage in Quick Battles against weaker foes!

  • When fighting enemies at a lower level than the player, both attack damage and stun damage increase.
  • If the enemy is 5 or more levels lower, your attack damage doubles!
This allows you to easily wipe out groups of monsters using Quick Battles.

Command Battle: Strategic Turn-Based Combat

Issue commands each time your turn arrives on the Action Time (AT) Bar and fight strategically.

[AT Bonuses]

  • During battle, icons will appear on the AT Bar granting various bonuses to whoever acts at that time—both allies and enemies.
  • You can steal AT Bonuses by stunning or defeating an enemy, or by using a Brave Attack.
  • Certain Crafts and delay effects can also be used to steal bonuses.

[Crafts]

  • Character-specific special techniques unleashed by consuming CP (Craft Points).
→ Some Crafts deal area-of-effect damage or straight-line attacks, while others provide various buffs or debuffs.
→ Certain Crafts deal bonus damage when striking from the side or back.

[Arts]

  • Cast Arts (magic) by consuming EP (Energy Points).
  • Arts require casting time but offer high power in exchange.
  • Particularly effective against enemies resistant to physical attacks or with high evasion rates.
  • Exploiting an enemy’s elemental weakness will greatly amplify damage.
  • Supportive Arts for healing and buffing allies are also available.

Stronger Crafts and Arts cause longer Delay (cooldown time) after use, requiring careful planning in battle.

[Defense]

  • Reduces incoming damage by half.
  • Delay after defending is also halved compared to normal attacks, making it useful for adjusting your action timing.

[Brave Attack / Follow-Up Attack, Chain Attack, and Burst]

  • When an enemy’s Stun Gauge reaches 100%, they become stunned and lose their next turn.
  • Attacking an enemy during a stun (or when a critical hit occurs) triggers a Brave Attack!
→ Follow-up Attacks, Chain Attacks, and Burst Attacks become available.

■ Follow-Up Attack

  • After your initial attack, one party member immediately follows up.
  • Each Follow-Up Attack restores 1 Brave Point.

■ Chain Attack

  • A coordinated area attack by you and one additional party member.
  • Costs 3 Brave Points to activate.

■ Burst Attack

  • Removes debuffs and unleashes an all-party simultaneous assault on all enemies.
  • Costs 5 Brave Points to activate.

You can use Quick Battles to stun enemies, then switch to Command Battle to immediately trigger a Brave Attack!

[Overdrive]

  • A Tactical Orbment function that can be activated when the target character is surrounded by a special aura.
  • Grants immunity to debuffs and powerful buffs for two turns.
  • While in Overdrive, attacks will always trigger Brave Attacks.

Estelle — Overdrive [Brave Heart]

  • Removes debuffs and grants immunity to new ones
  • 100% hit rate
  • +30% chance to inflict deathblow and magic criticals
  • +10% STR (Strength) / +10% DEF (Defense)
  • +5% ATS (Arts Strength)

Joshua — Overdrive [Quick Raid]

  • Removes debuffs and grants immunity to new ones
  • 100% hit rate
  • +30% chance to inflict deathblow and magic criticals
  • +10% STR (Strength) / +10% SPD (Speed)
  • +5% ATS (Arts Strength)
  • +5 MOV (Movement Range)

[Support Abilities]

  • Various support actions can be triggered under specific conditions during battle.
  • Earn Support EXP by engaging in battles or eating food.
  • As Support Level increases, you can unlock new Support Abilities or upgrade existing ones into stronger forms.

■Keywords

■Bracers
A private, international organization devoted to the ideals of “protecting civilians and preserving regional peace.”
They take on requests from the public, handle monster exterminations, and work to prevent crime. Branches are located across the continent, and thanks to their neutrality and international standing,
bracers are sometimes called upon to mediate disputes between nations.

■Orbments
Mechanical devices powered by the mysterious energy source known as orbal energy.
Inside an orbment, circuits crafted from processed septium are stored, allowing the device to produce various phenomena depending on its configuration.
Invented around 50 years ago by Professor C. Epstein, orbments rapidly spread across the continent, revolutionizing fields such as lighting, communications, machinery, weaponry, data storage, and even airship travel.

■Region Introduction

■Kingdom of Liberl
A small nation rich in nature and royal tradition, located in the southwest of the Zemurian continent.
Though inferior in military strength compared to neighboring powers, Liberl has built strong relationships with surrounding nations through its abundant septium resources, advanced orbment technology, and masterful diplomacy.
Ten years ago, the kingdom suffered major damage during an invasion by the Erebonian Empire to the north.
Today, under the reign of Queen Alicia von Auslese II, Liberl continues to proudly maintain its peace.

■Rolent
A peaceful provincial city located between the royal capital of Grancel and the commercial city of Bose, famous for its landmark clock tower in the town center.
Rolent’s local industries focus on agriculture and septium mining. In particular, Rolent’s high-quality septium, vital for orbment production, plays a crucial role in supporting Liberl’s major industries.
While the town retains a relaxed, traditional lifestyle and isn’t heavily mechanized, the presence of a regular airship service ensures that travel to other cities is never inconvenient.

■Character Introduction

■ Cassius Bright (Age 45)
VA: Kenji Hamada

“Hmph. You’ve still got a long way to go.
If you want to be a real bracer, you’d better hurry up

and earn your full certification.”

Estelle’s father.
A ruggedly built middle-aged man with a dashing mustache.
A veteran bracer, Cassius has a reputation that extends beyond Liberl to the entire continent.
He’s also the mentor to both Estelle, Joshua, and even Scherazard.
Known for his boldness (he once adopted Joshua on a whim) and playful, easygoing nature, Estelle affectionately—and sometimes exasperatedly—refers to him as a “deadbeat dad.”
He’s also a master swordsman of the Eight Leaves One Blade style, and once held the legendary title of Divine Blade.

■ Professor Alba (Age 37)
VA: Nobuo Tobita

“Ancient ruins hold such romance, don’t they?
Ah, it’s wonderful to meet someone who understands!”

A poor archaeologist who came to Liberl to research ancient ruins.
Soft-spoken and gentle, he’s always seen wearing a warm smile.
Despite his timid nature, his passion for research often drives him to recklessly venture into dangerous areas, sometimes leading to encounters with monsters and other misfortunes.

■ Aina Holden (Age 23)
VA: Sayumi Suzushiro

“Once today’s training is over,
you’ll officially be part of the Bracer Guild family!”

The receptionist at the Rolent branch of the Bracer Guild.
She kindly supports Estelle and Joshua as they work toward becoming full-fledged bracers.
A close friend of Scherazard—and surprisingly, an even heavier drinker than Schera herself.

■ Nial Burns (Age 29)
VA: Satoshi Tsuruoka

“We run gossip, sure. But we don’t print garbage.
That’s the Liberl News way.”

A talented reporter for the Liberl News.
Scruffy and a heavy smoker, but a highly capable journalist willing to risk danger for a big scoop.
He’s often tasked with keeping an eye on his quirky junior photographer, Dorothy, leading to daily headaches but forming a surprisingly effective duo.
During a trip to Rolent to gather material for a story, he hires Estelle and Joshua as his bodyguards and guides.

■Dorothy Hyatt (Age 20)
VA: Hikaru Tono

“Oh, Mr. Nial!
Please save meee!”

A rookie photographer for the Liberl News.
Exceptionally airheaded and incredibly laid-back, she’s a constant source of trouble for Nial, though she remains blissfully unaware of it.
Despite her eccentric methods, her photography skills are top-notch, and she’s known for capturing breathtaking, one-of-a-kind shots.

■Josette Harle (Age 16)
VA: Anna Nagase

“Oh my…!
I’m so honored to meet a real bracer!”

A student at Jenis Royal Academy, a prestigious school in the Rouen region.
Though raised as a proper young lady, Josette has a humble and kind-hearted personality, never flaunting her status.
Currently conducting independent research on cultural artifacts, she visits Rolent during the school holidays to continue her studies.
